Women mean business
By Leigh Hunt on May 21st, 2007
I was just having a read of Lea Woodward’s blog and came across this news story on her site. It notes that women aged 18 - 34 account for 18% of all online activity in the UK.
According to an American statistic, 80% of all purchases are made by women. As such a force in the consumer market, it’s no surprise we’re starting to make our mark in business. By becoming a more dominant contingent in the business world, we truly have the power to create a better balance between family and work and a revolution in how business is done.

Hey Leigh,
Thanks for the mention on your blog. Love your site by the way!
It’s an interesting article isn’t it? Not what you might think, is it?...but great that it’s helping you guys make your mark.

"According to an American statistic, 80% of all purchases are made by women. “

Exactly
Behind every great man, there’s an even greater woman

Actually Dan’s almost right; I’ll ignore the part about dictation!
What I should have said is, women are ‘behind’ 80% of all purchases. Whilst it may mostly be men painting the walls, you can bet your bottom dollar it’s mostly women choosing the colours!

That is so true, I bet women are in reality behind more like 95% of purchases because if I think about it when my husband goes to the shops it’s armed with a list I’ve written!
