Enterprise Nation launches UK’s first ever award

Enterprise Nation has launched the first ever award to recognise and celebrate the UK’s best home business.

The award will be presented to the home business that shows most progress and promise in the areas of business, lifestyle and technology.

It recognises that home businesses make up 59% of the total number of start-ups in the UK.

Emma Jones, founder of Enterprise Nation, says: “With the home now being the most popular start-up location in the UK, we thought it was time to have an award dedicated to this fast growing group of business owners.”

Emma Jones joins designer, Wayne Hemingway, Enterprise Editor of The Sunday Times, Rachel Bridge, and Ann Carter-Gray, Head of Enterprising People at the Department for Business, Enterprise & Regulatory Reform, on a judging panel to decide the winner. The prize includes a home office makeover, as well as a promotional photo shoot and a year’s supply of coffee.

Emma continues: “Visitors to our site have great ambitions for their home businesses. As well as wanting to get started, they are keen to grow and be recognised.

“This Award is designed to help the home business that shows most progress and promise to do just that.

The competition is open to any home business that has been operating in UK for more than six months. Applicants can apply online at the Enterprise Nation website (http://www.enterprisenation.com). The closing date for entries is September 17th; the winner will be announced on October 1st.
