Course Accreditations
It’s important to us that you feel a real sense of achievement when you finish your home study course. All Lotus home study courses lead to accredited and nationally recognised qualifications you’ll feel proud to hang on your wall!
All Lotus courses are externally accredited by one of the following bodies:
ASET
ASET is a National Awarding body recognised in the UK by DfES, the Learning and Skills Council and all relevant government departments and agencies. Although they are a very modern Awarding Body, using the latest techniques for quality management, assessment and communications, ASET can trace its roots back through regional advisory councils and examining boards to the 1920s.
ASET works extensively across the UK and has a growing International network. In the UK more than 3,000 ASET learning programmes are delivered by over 500 licensed centres including FE colleges, universities, sixth form and community colleges, LEAs, employers, government agencies, training companies and not-for-profit organisations.
ICB
ICB qualifications are accredited in England by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) and the regulatory authorities in Wales and Northern Ireland.
ABC Awards
ABC Awards is one of the largest vocational awarding bodies in the United Kingdom.
ABC Awards was formally established in 1998 and was one of the first vocational awarding bodies to be approved by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority for inclusion in the National Qualifications Framework. It brings together the previously independent examinations, assessment and accreditation services of AoSEC (Reading), CENTRA (Chorley), EMFEC (Nottingham) and Learning South West (Taunton).
NOCN
The National Open College Network (NOCN) is the UK’s foremost provider of accreditation services for adult learning.
It’s a QCA, CCEA and ACCAC recognised national qualification awarding body.

Qualifications and awards recognise the ability to gain a good knowledge and understanding of a subject area of work or study, and to perform varied tasks with some guidance or supervision. Learning at this level involves building knowledge and/or skills in relation to an area of work or a subject area and is appropriate for many job roles. |
| 3 | ASET Diplomas ICB |
Qualifications and awards recognise the ability to gain, and where relevant apply a range of knowledge, skills and understanding. Learning at this level involves obtaining detailed knowledge and skills. It is appropriate for people wishing to go to university, people working independently, or in some areas supervising and training others in their field of work. |
| 4 | ASET Advanced Diplomas | Qualifications and awards recognise specialist learning and involve detailed analysis of a high level of information and knowledge in an area of work or study. Learning at this level is appropriate for people working in technical and professional jobs, and/or managing and developing others. Level 4 qualifications are at a level equivalent to Certificates of Higher Education. |
